TWD: Peanuttiest Blondies

This week Tuesdays With Dorie takes a break from fall flavors with Peanuttiest Blondies. Peanut butter and chocolate are a splendid flavor combination any time of year, in my opinion. I made these on Thursday evening so I’d be able to take some to work and clear the decks for the weekend, when I knew there would be a lot of treats around and other things on my baking list. In addition to enjoying recipes that involve peanut butter and chocolate, I am also a big fan of ones you can put together and get in the oven in the time it takes for dinner to cook, and this one came through on that account as well. I had leftover peanut brittle from Sweet Melissa Sundays that we had been a bit slow getting through, so instead of using peanuts, I chopped up the brittle and decreased the sugar in the blondies.

The blondies I brought to work were gobbled up quickly and we thought they were tasty. I don’t think they’re something I’d make again, but definitely enjoyable. We rated this recipe a 7 for Deliciousness and a 2.5 for Effort, for an EDR of 2.8. Many thanks to Nicole of Bakeologie for a great selection. You can find the recipe here on Nicole’s site and visit the TWD site to see what the rest of the bakers thought of this treat.

Looks like congratulations are in order for your Giants. They played the best, no doubt about it. Love, a Ranger fan.

p.s. Brownies look good but I'm with you--not a repeat.

What a great idea to use some of your leftover peanut brittle! And Eloise, as always, is just too cute!

They look good. Glad to know they are not a repeat since I haven't made them yet,(the floor in my kitchen is being redone). I think I'll just go on to next week.

Awww Eloise is a panda bear... right? Although I'm not too pleased with the world series outcome (being a Texan and all) I am still tremendously happy for the Giants. They played better, they deserved to make history!! Good for them!

Your blondies look great and sound better because of the addition of the brittle! yum

Ahhh, love the photo of Eloise, Margot! Congrats to your Giants :)

Your blondies look perfect! I agree, these weren't a repeat here (for me anyway, I don't think Shane would object), but glad to have made them this time. Smart thinking on using the brittle in yours.

Love your blondies, they turned out really nice. Eloise is adorable! btw, had to make toffee the other day as Matt said, "Mom, isn't it about time to make some of Margot's toffee again? It's been a month!" Just so you know...your name is always spoken with great awe and reverence around here.

You cut so straight. I always have straggles and if I cut them off, more appear.

Panda! I didn't know Eloise was so talented! Weren't the last two games amazing?

Oh sorry, the blondies. They look great and I bet they were much better with the peanut brittle, but I agree, blondies just aren't a favorite here, either.
