TWD: Sugar-Topped Molasses Cookies


This week’s Tuesdays With Dorie treat is Sugar-Topped Molasses Cookies. Since I had ever-so-much to say about the chestnut cake last week, I will keep this one short and sweet. Besides, since we have been allowed to post out of order this month, I have seen these on many blogs (I think I may be one of the last TWD bakers to make them) and I think everyone knows how good they are now. Spicy, molassesy, and crunchy from the sugar – an excellent treat to fill your cookie jar during the cool months.

I LOVED these. Made them last week and am making them to take with us on Thanksgiving when we visit family. Yours look fabulous! I made the cran apple crisp this week, so good!

Your cookies are beautiful! I love that you rolled them in raw sugar -- it makes them sparkle. They're tasty cookies, aren't they? I haven't made the chestnut cake yet. I keep putting it off, so next week is the week for that! I need to go back and read your post before I make it.

How beautiful with the sanding sugar! They almost look like little porcupines. I also made them this week, so you aren't the last one. That's how I feel about the crisp.

Your cookies look so beautiful with the large sugar crystals all over them! I didn't have anything but granulated so I didn't get the same effect (I made these this week, too) though I think they are gorgeous the way you made them. I really loved these, though I am certainly planning on making Alice Medrich's ginger cookies this weekend and comparing the two.

I absolutely love how your cookies are covered in sparkly sugar! You couldn't even see the sugar on mine after I baked them. These were delicious cookies and the more blogs I see them on the more I wish I still had some left :)
